Summer Newsletter 2024

Dear Parents/Carers

As we come to the end of another academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support throughout the year. We uphold the highest standards in everything we do and hope this is visible, from staffing and equipment to our trustees. Our focus is always to give our children the best possible start to their early years care and education.

As a not-for-profit charity we are blessed to be able to reinvest in our pre-school and continually strive to renew and expand our equipment both inside and outside in our garden. Spending and investment have been huge this term and this is down to our dedicated trustees who share our vision to improve the pre-school and offer the best we can. During the summer holidays a large play castle will be installed in the garden, complete with safety surface, ready for the children in September.

We really value our entire pre-school community and the opportunity to include everyone in what we do at pre-school. In June, over 100 significant people (including dads, mums, grandparents and uncles) stayed to play and enjoy a bacon roll with us. Also, our recent visit to Wimpole Farm was a wonderful day; with over 250 of our pre-school community including children, parents/carers, grandparents and staff, joining us for the day out.

Last Christmas, children had the opportunity to meet Father Christmas and ‘real’ reindeers who joined us in the garden at the end of term. We had a number of activities set up for the children to enjoy with their parents and carers, with complimentary hot chocolate provided for everyone.

During this term we have been lucky enough to welcome a number of visitors to pre-school to enhance the children’s experiences and learning. Our visitors have included a visit form the Fire Service (along with their fire engine/appliance), St Neots Library, a veterinary nurse, Mr Piccolo (with an interactive music and singing workshop for the children), MagPas (rescue service) and Bedford Gymnastics.

We believe all these visitors and our huge range of equipment and resources, as well as a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated staff team, deliver an enriched curriculum, offering first hand experiences for your children.

As a not-for-profit organisation we also have the luxury of providing a high adult to child ratio, which benefits the communication and language environment for the children.

If your child is leaving us at the end of this term to start school or join a new setting, we wish them the very best in their new adventure.

Our last pre-school sessions of the term will be on Friday 12th July and for those children returning to us in the Autumn term, we look forward to welcoming you back from Wednesday 4th September.

Once again, we would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year and wish you all a happy and healthy summer break.

Kind regards

Caroline Allanson

Pre-School Manager
